    • Application of the Portable Drill in Cement Limestone Ore Exploration

      Abstract:Portable drill has been widely used in geology and engineering exploration, in order to further expand its application scope and advocate green exploration, in Wangshiling cement limestone ore exploration of Dong’an County, the samples were obtained by using ZY-25 type portable drill by drilling instead of trenching with good effect. The practical application shows that under the conditions of simple mining area structure, gentle and stable strata occurrence, large thickness of ore body with high and uniform content of useful mineral components and low content of harmful components, it is feasible to use portable drill for sampling by drilling instead of trenching.

      Abstract:The principle of the hydraulic hammer casing puller is taking flushing fluid as the power medium to drive the hammer to vibrate and send the mechanical stress wave through the hydraulic hammer to the casing so as to pull it loose and then pull it out. By the newly developed hydraulic hammer casing puller, the damage to casing caused by pulling method of common brute force can be reduced with drilling cost saving. In this paper, the pulling principle and working method of double acting and positive acting hydraulic hammer casing puller are introduced, good results have been achieved in field tests carried out in Zunyi Xishandai iron mine of Hebei Province.

    • Mechanical Performance Test and Failure Analysis on Cold Assembled Aluminum Alloy Drill Pipe Thread Pair

      Abstract:Compared with the traditional steel drill pipe, aluminum alloy drill pipe has the advantages of low density, high specific strength, non-magnetic and etc., so it has great advantage in deep and ultra-deep drilling operations. In practice, for aluminum alloy drill pipe, the connecting and dismounting at two ends are realized by the screws on the steel joints, while the fasten connection of aluminum alloy drill pipe and steel joint is realized by interference fit. With the cooling source of liquid nitrogen, 50mm 7075 aluminum alloy drill pipe and steel joints were connected with interference by “cold assembly”, the magnitude of interference between aluminum alloy drill pipe and steel joints were 0.1, 0.15 and 0.2mm respectively. The tensile and torsion tests were carried out on the assembled aluminum alloy drill pipe (both ends with steel joints). In this paper, the reliability of the connection between aluminum alloy drill pipe and steel joint was evaluated, and the fracture surface of specimen are analyzed macroscopically and microscopically to elaborate the fracture mechanism. The results show that the interference assembly of aluminum alloy drill pipe and steel joint can be realized by “cold assembly”. The aluminum alloy drill pipe with magnitude of interference of 0.15mm has better comprehensive properties, and it can bear larger tensile strength and anti-torsion limits, and the fracture mode is brittle fracture.

      Abstract:This paper introduces the overall structure of new STC-1000 collocated double-hoister truck mounted drilling rig. With the collocated double hoisters, the drilling rig has compact structure and reasonable layout, the hoisters can be used interchangeably, winding, lifting and braking are convenient and reliable; the pulley centering of double-hoister lifting is solved by movable sheave group; explosion relief valve is used in derrick take-off and landing circuit to optimize the hydraulic system. The working efficiency is improved by the above application, the relocation has become convenient and rapid, and the auxiliary time is greatly shortened.

    • Discussion about Calculation Methods of Rock Fracturing by Rotary Drill

      Abstract:Combining with basic phenomenon in rock fracturing by external load, the analysis is made on the process of crushing rock by rotary drilling to get the helical breaking form. Based on the conditions of pressing into the rocks and selecting a single cutting pick as calculation model, the theoretical formula of axial pressure is obtained; then with the reference of Coulomb-Navier internal friction theory, the theoretical calculation formula of cutting force is obtained. According to different types of drilling tool, the calculation formula of single cutting teeth is extended, the formulas for calculating the pressure and torque parameters of rotary drilling rig are obtained. The influence factors under specific conditions in the axial force and cutting force calculation formulas are simplified, the theoretical relationship between drilling penetration rate and cutting force in rotary drilling process is obtained. Finally, by dynamic analysis software LS-DYNA, change curve of cutting force of single pick in different drilled depth is simulated, and the comparison is made on the simulated curve and the theoretical calculated curve under the same condition to get the theoretical calculation formula for cracking parameters of single pick, which can be reference for the design of rotary drilling rig.

      Abstract:Traditional drilling rig is mainly composed of major structure, work station and pump station, the heavy weight makes inconvenient transportation. ZDY4000LS all-hydraulic crawler tunnel drilling rig is a new one for coal mine, which has reasonable structure layout and complete auxiliary functions. It can effectively improve the drilling efficiency in small and medium-sized coal mines, increase drilling production and reduce labor intensity of workers. This paper introduces ZDY4000LS all-hydraulic crawler tunnel drilling rig about its main technical parameters, structure layout characteristics and hydraulic system. The application shows that this drilling rig has popularization value for the tunnels which are narrow or being restricted by conveying belt.

    • Application of Mini-frac Analytical Technique in B Oilfield of Bohai

      Abstract:The mini-frac analytical technique is a means of obtaining the reservoir physical parameters and the analysis on fracturing fluid properties before the hydraulic fracturing construction and is also the technical assurance of smooth fracturing construction. This paper introduces the application process and theoretical basis of the test fracturing from the field construction work and briefly introduces several mathematical methods to find the formation closure pressure. Closure pressure is one of the key parameters of fracturing construction, which are not the same for being derived from different mathematical methods; the reliable values should be selected according to the actual test results. The pressure drop curve fitting is a method to reversely calculate the key formation parameters in the model. After fitting, the fracturing model for the construction stratum is obtained. On this basis, the main fracturing design and the fracture prediction are relatively accurate, the construction is also safe.

      Abstract:It is well known that stuck pipe releasing with acid soaking is the most rapid and effective way in Middle Tarim block of Tarim oilfield, a number of pipe sticking accidents have been solved with success rate of 100%. The sticking releasing operation in well TZ4SH is the first time to use acid soaking in non Ordovician strata with the carbonate content less than 90%. The practice shows that the acid soaking does not mean to completely dissolve the obstruction at the sticking point, but to partly dissolve obstruction to reduce the interference to drilling tool. For stuck pipe releasing with acid soaking, not only the lithology and the carbonate content in the sticking point should be learned, but also the cementing strength, borehole wall stability and some other factors should be considered.

      Abstract:In the drilling process in salt soluble formation of Qinghai, the upper shale water swelling with borehole shrinkage, the lower potasium salt mineral layer corrosion lead salt intrusion and borehole diameter expanding; gravel clastic rock with poor cementation, collapsing and block falling, according to these construction difficulties, the study was carried out on the brine mud adaptability to lithology. By orthogonal experiment method in the laboratory and practical preparation in the field, 4 groups of brine mud formulas were optimized. Compared with the ordinary low solid mud in the application, the average penetration rate increased from 1.015m/h to 1.195m/h, borehole diameter expansion rate decreased from 7.83% to 4.36%, hole backreaming loss decreased from 3.05% to 1.41%, the mud cost decreased from 731.3 yuan /m3 to 503.8 yuan/m3.

      Abstract:In the mineral exploration of Zijinshan gold-copper mine, air reverse circulation continuous sampling drilling technology was used to solve the problems of the broken formation drilling, the difficult sampling in water-deficient area and the high construction cost. This thesis introduces machines matching, drilling process and attentions of construction; especially in broken and leakage formation of Zijinshan gold-copper mine, normal and reverse circulation DTH drilling were used to improve drilling efficiency, high sampling rate is received with improved construction efficiency and reduced cost.

      Abstract:Large amount of working face gushing water was encountered in the bedrock section of air shaft in Yuandian 1st coal mine, the drainage capacity could not meet the needs of excavation and lining. In order to ensure the safety of shaft excavation and lining, rapid releasing by direct drilling to air shaft was proposed, but the conventional mud drilling could not be used. By long-distance suspended drill pipe with air DTH hammer drilling technology, conductor pipe installation and some other construction technologies and measures, the technical difficulties of rock powder returning upward, too large water pressure, drill pipe swinging and some others have been effectively solved, the drainage hole construction is completed smoothly, the gushing water in bedrock section is discharged into the underground sump.

      Abstract:In the oil and gas pre-exploration in northern part of Datong basin, the construction area formation is interbedded mainly with mudstone, sandy mudstone, carbonaceous mudstone and sandy conglomerate, loose cemented gravel in upper part, which are broken with block falling, and mudstone has strong water sensitivity and is easy to disperse and mud making, wall protection is difficult, blocking and sticking occur in drilling process. The designed well depth is generally 1000~3000m, different types and structures of drill bit, tools and coring tool are adopted, drilling parameters are adjusted. Dual polymer filming non-solid drilling fluid system is selected together with corresponding technological process and measures to realize wall stability and the side tracking are successfully completed.

      Abstract:Longfengshan gas field is a typical fractured reservoir with outstanding absorption. In the process of drilling, cementing operation has difficulties of low formation pressure coefficient, active gas and borehole wall stability. According to the characteristics of this block, through cementing measures strengthening, leakage prevention in drilling and completion processes, mud loss control under pressures, well completion method optimization, variable displacement fluid technology, low density slurry system optimization and rational design of structure, the cementing leakage and gas channeling during cement curing have been effectively solved to ensure the cementing quality for effective oil reservoir cementing.

      Abstract:Directional drilling technology in coal mine has lots of advantages such as precisely controlled drilling trajectory, long effective distance and one hole for multiple purposes. For the roof flood in Tangjiahui mine, pre-drainage was carried out with long directional borehole, by the drainage practice in the first coal mining face and the inspection by boring through seam, obvious drainage effect is presented, which provide safety guarantee for working face tunneling and actual mining.

      Abstract:According to the geological characteristics of CBM reservoir in Qinshui region and the technical difficulties in horizontally butted multi-branch wells construction, and combined with the drilling scheme of 2012 ZX-SP-01 well group, this paper introduces the key technologies about the well bore structure of drainage well and engineering well, wellbore trajectory optimization and suspended sidetracking, as well as the determination of the bit position and azimuth to coalbed using azimuth gamma. The real drilling trajectory and the late drainage effects show that by this series of technologies, the successful horizontally butted multi-branch wells construction can be ensured to form mature drilling technology of CBM horizontally butted multi-branch wells for good results.

      Abstract:In the construction process of Shiweihe of Yunlong County, Yunnan Province, some problems in the design of geological disaster control were encountered. There are many designing mistakes in the construction drawings of the protection embankment, especially the river terrain changes and protection embankment crossing over the built dam, which seriously restricted the construction progress, the construction period was delayed for a month and the construction quality and engineering safety were affected. Based on the actual project situation, some feasible solutions are put forward in this paper.

      Abstract:In the foundation pit support engineering in Longhu of Qingdao, the retaining piles are set in soil layers of plain fill, coarse sand and silty clay. PRC-I 600AB110 single pre-stressed pipe pile, with high stiffness, was adopted as retaining pile, the pile diameter is 600mm, pile length are 7m and 8m respectively. After the excavation, no obvious cracks and subsidence appear in the ground at the top slope. The monitoring results show that the horizontal and vertical displacements of the foundation pit are within the allowable ranges, the construction has met the design requirements.

      Abstract:In drilling engineering, especially in petroleum and gas drilling, the wing bit is widely used due to its simple design and easy manufacture, good penetration rate and long footage in soft formations drilling, such as clay and shale formations. However in hard and soft-hard interbedded formations, especially in abrasive formation drilling, its penetration rate is low and rapid bit wear influence its service life.Третьяк А.Я ., who is a professor of South-Russian State Technical University, has worked out a cutting type two-tier wing bit Д-2ВВ, two conic rotating tiers are mounted on the bit body for pilot drilling and well drilling (not depending on each other and located at the same axis of rotation), driven by planetary gearing transmission mechanism. They can rotate in different (opposite) directions to guarantee that the cutter wings with several PDC composite plates passing the same distance in unit time, no matter where they are. In this case, the bit wear resistance is improved by uniform bit wear with improved technical and economic indexes of drilling. This technology has obtained the Russia invention patent.
