Abstract:Guangjin 6-2HF is a long extension horizontal well of Chuanxi gas production plant, which was first finished by using geo-steering drilling technique in Penglaizhen gas reservoirs. The well trajectory was accurately controlled by geo-steering drilling technique and comprehensive logging technique with BHA optimization, target A landed accurately. The BHA with single bend screw and double-stabilizer had a good steady inclination effect in Penglaizhen gas reservoirs. The total footage of the horizontal section of this well was 980.84 m, including 21.5m sliding drilling footage and 959.34m complex drilling footage. The complex drilling ratio was 97.8%, which greatly improved the drilling efficiency. The successful experience of this well provided a good basis for the application of geo-steering drilling technique in Chuanxi area.

Abstract:In the oilfield of western South China Sea, the geological situation is complicated in Beibuwan basin reservoir section with the interlayer, the mudstone is easy to be hydrated, the drilling fluid system maintenance is difficult, and it is hard to give consideration to both borehole stability and reservoir protection. Take WZ6-9 and 6-10 oilfields as the examples, the paper introduces the geological situation in Beibuwan basin reservoir section and the difficult points in drilling fluid technology; also presents a new kind of solid free organic salt anti-sloughing drilling fluid system and the results of experimental evaluation. This drilling fluid system is effective for solving the sand-shale interbed borehole instability in complex reservoir section of Beibuwan basin, preventing the pollution of the reservoir and reducing the incidence of downhole accident. This technology provides a powerful technical support for the petroleum exploration and development in Beibuwan basin.

Abstract:The retrievable casing is often used for coring drilling in large diameter deep well construction to increase the drilling efficiency, improve the loading conditions of drill string and seal unstable strata. Because of the complex strata, the large stress and the difficulties in controlling the wall inclination and stability, the prevention of retrievable casing accident is important. The paper introduces the methods of retrievable casing lowing and the relative measures, puts forward the solutions to the related problems that may arise in the construction process.

Abstract:According to the complex geological structure in molybdenum mine of Luanchuan with crisscross underground mined-out areas and uneven mining floor, experimental research was made on drilling equipment integrated various advantages which took reverse circulation DTH hammer drilling technology as the core to solve the exploration difficulties in this mining area. Abstract:Most of the hole accidents in drilling construction are related to the human factors, pure natural accident is relatively rare. The detail analysis was made on the a serious wall collapse accident in ZK3410 hole of Sanshandao offshore gold exploration project, and a series of measures were taken to deal with the accident. The flushing fluid concentration was increased to improve the wall protection effects and hole cleaning was done by dredging the sediment with special drilling tool, until normal drilling operation was returned. The practice proves that the subjective consciousness of the operators is crucial to the hole accidents prevention.

Abstract:Because of the complex regional tectonics with broken rocks, kaolinization in part of rocks, serious circulation loss and collapse in Huaishuping large gold mine, the downhole accidents of hole diameter shrinkage, drill pipe sticking and difficult inner tube assembly fishing often occurred, which seriously affected the drilling efficiency and drilling quality. The analysis on the above difficulties and problems are made, and by the experimental study, the low solids polymer mud system is adopted. According to the characteristics of the strata, the formula of low solid phase polymer mud, preparation method, maintenance and wall protection & plugging under different conditions are determined and gradually comprehensive promoted in this mining area. The hole accidents are greatly reduced with the efficiencies of penetration and meterage per rig-month improved, which also promotes the mining exploration progress, shortens the cycle of exploration and achieves remarkable economic and social benefits.

Abstract:According to the different applications, the casing diameter of the finished large diameter engineering well is usually 450~1300mm, the large sizes of borehole and casing is one of the marked features of this kind of project. The common methods of casing running and connection as well as the design principles of casing strength for large diameter engineering well were briefly introduced. Combined with the engineering case, the paper clarifies that as long as with the scientific design of casing strength and rational methods of casing running and connection, the casing with weight about 300t also can be safely run by the rig with 100t lifting force.

Abstract:Well 19H of Zhongjiang is a long horizontal well with designed depth of 3830m and 990m in the horizontal section. The fracture develops in this district with wide spreading well wall instability and block falling. The design of the second open hole section makes the wall instability even worse, the sand bridge may be formed by local accumulation of falling blocks in the well bore to cause drill rod sticking. The reasons of drill rod sticking are analyzed in this paper, the corresponding preventive measures are put forward in optimization of drilling fluid performance, drilling tools and drilling tool assembly for horizontal section as well as reinforcing well bore clarification. The later sidetracking construction is successfully completed, which provides some valuable experiences for drilling work in this district.

Abstract:The termination depth of ZK1 geothermal well in Tangshan is 3204.8m with “four section” well structure, the revealed formations are complicated. In the construction process, according to the different formations encountered, the BHA and the parameters of drilling and drilling fluid were adjusted timely to reduce the construction risks of drill rod burying and sticking caused by mud leakage, block falling and wall collapse due to large formation changes; the safety and quality of well drilling and completion construction were ensured. This project provides successful experience for geothermal well construction in the same or similar formations in Tangshan area.

Abstract:Well Jin-3 is in the Northeast of China. Aimed at Shahezi Fm of compact mudstone, soft-hard interbedded formations, strong abrasive, low ROP and short service life of bit, through improving matrix formula, taking wear resistant surface set natural diamond and impregnated synthetic diamond inlaid teeth by hot pressing as cutting teeth, optimizing the cutting structure of the bit, simulating and optimizing the bit hydraulic structure by CFD software, the new mix setting diamond bit (NR826M)was developed. The total footage reached 784.69m in well Jin-3 with only 3 this newly designed bits, the average ROP was 1.05m/h, the highest footage of one bit was 295m; the service life and the ROP were 6.5 times and 1.5 times higher than those of rock bit respectively, which shortens drilling cycle for 40 days with the reduction of drilling cost, and provides more choices for bit selection in the similar strata of this area.

Abstract:According to the complicated unloading operation for drill rod and the poor clamping stability, new back-up wrench device for hydraulic top drive drilling rig was designed to adapt to the Continental Scientific Drilling. This device has the advantages of large clamping force, little damage to drill rod, stable performance and two-way floating, by which the frequent rod lifting is saved and the subsidiary operation time is greatly reduced by rapid makeup and breakout operation. And using ADAMS dynamics simulation software, the motion simulation analysis is made on the clamping mechanism to verify the rationality of the mechanism design.

Abstract:This paper introduces a boosting type cylinder clamp with symmetrical arrangement of force increasing device on both sides. Abstract:To meet the water supply demand of a power plant, the water intake engineering construction (containing water intake shaft, draw water tunnel and open diversion channel) at a reservoir was needed. By means of the top-down method of excavation with lining alternated in short segments, guiding cavern water from shaft wall was derived as a part of the water source, and the shaft construction was completed with dry bottom-sealing. By pipe jacking and pipe top grouting technologies, draw water tunnel was accomplished in the strata with broken rocks and abundant water inflow; by the rock plug blasting, the connection of the tunnel and the reservoir was successfully realized; and by percussive trenching technology, open diversion channel was constructed.
