Abstract:A comprehensive analysis on and comparison between spindle core drill and hydraulic top-drive core drill is made in this article. Special concern is focused on the technical economics in the drilling operation of the two types of the core drills. The result shows that hydraulic top-drive core drill is superior over spindle core drill not only in its light weight and portability, but also in its excellent drilling performance. With the increase of borehole depth, the comparative advantage of hydraulic top-drive core drill decreases. In this case, the length of drill rod stand should be increased to improve efficiency of round-trip operation.

Abstract:Monitoring well with continuous multi-tunnel is a newly typed one without joints and leakage. Abstract:In the theory of pile vibration, one-dimensional assumption is not suitable for the large diameter pile. The influence of lateral inertial effect must be taken into account. This paper presents the solution of the motion equation of lateral inertial effect with Laplace transforms and develops the velocity response function under semi-sine wave exciting force at the level of pile tip. The paper also presents the analysis on the influence of lateral inertial effect of the dynamic response curves in the time-domain and its factors. Taking no account of the influence of pile material damping and the surrounding soil, it is found that both the velocity decreasing and attenuation of the stress wave are due to the lateral inertial effect. Meanwhile,different pulses and diameters also have an important influence on the lateral inertial effect.

Abstract:The result of pile tests on 14 piles with different lengths in 5 engineering cases shows that bearing capacity of single pile was quite different in the same construction site and with the same type of pile just because of different pile lengths and bearing stratums. The paper analyzed the conditions of bearing capacity of pile tip and time effect, when bearing capacity of pile tip was weak, lower bearing capacity of single friction pile could be reasonably explained by compressive pressure to pile or by A.S.Vesic theory.

Abstract:In the current criterion, different models of pile foundation settlement estimation should match with different determination methods of thickness of compressed layer. These methods were summarized with engineering cases; discussion and analysis were made on the thickness of compressed layer determined by different estimation models and the result of settlement estimation. The author thought the thickness of compressed layer could be determined by deformation ratio method if geological data of construction site were detailed mastered, otherwise by stress ratio method.

Abstract:According to the characteristics of cofferdam, control of grouting with static pressure casing was used for wall protection of borehole construction in unconsolidated formation and filled foundation to increase efficiency of borehole completion. Combined with casing location, grouting pressure and slurry ratio were adjusted to control the diffusion radius of grouting slurry and control the grouting location and grouting effect. The paper also introduced the application of control of grouting method with static pressure casing in anti-seepage for cofferdam of Dongqing hydropower station in Guizhou.

Abstract:Hazardous wastes can cause great harm to the environment, so the design and the construction of hazardous waste landfill site demand higher standards. Design of impermeable layer is the central issue; construction should guarantee the design requirements with the highest quality. Abstract:Construction technology of small internal tunnel is more favorable because of its simple and economy than double-arched tunnel without limitation on topographical condition and line type. Numerical simulation was made on the thickness of mid-pillars in small internal tunnel with finite element method; fitting curve of maximum tensile stress, yield function criteria and small interval was obtained through Griffith damage criteria and Drucker-Prager criteria.
