Abstract:The present situation of CBM development around the world is analyzed. It is pointed out that CBM reservoirs in China are featured with low pressure, low permeability, poor desorptionability, insufficient drive power and regionally appeared pulverized coal lenses etc., which makes the commonly used CBM development technology severely limited in the development of CBM in China. A series of development technologies which are suitable for low pressure and low permeability of CBM resources in China are presented, including under-balance drilling and cavity completion technology, and multi-lateral horizontal well and cavity completion technology.
