    Abstract:

    During the drilling construction in the Mingyuefeng area of Hunan Province, accidents such as hole shrinkage and tool stuck are prone to occur in limestone and mudstone formations, and casing is often used for wall protection. Due to the deep penetration of the casing and the limited lifting capacity of the portable drill, it is difficult to recover the casing. The method adopted is to use a hydraulic cutter to cut the middle of the casing for recovery. In the actual cutting process, the success rate of casing cutting is not high, mainly manifested as the casing still cannot be lifted out of the drilling hole after cutting, and the hydraulic cutting blade after cutting is prone to breakage, excessive wear, etc. The main reasons are incorrect judgment of the stuck point position and irregular cutting operation. In this paper, precautions for the use of hydraulic cutting tools are formulated to address the reasons of cutting failure. Cutting the casing according to relevant precautions can significantly improve the success rate of cutting.
