The Principle and Applications of Unconventional Drilling Methodbreaking Rocks by Heat Energy

Abstract:

A new type of drilling method, breaking rocks by heat energy, is introduced in this paper, including thermodynamic drilling, combined drilling method of ultrahigh frequency thermoelectricmechanical cutting and thermosmelting drilling. The mechanism of rockdestruction, application fields of the method and some application cases and prospects are also discussed.
