The paper introduced the calculation method for optimization design of hydraulic drill gear reducer by MATLAB software: with the assurance of overall gear ratio and bearing capacity, taking the minimum gear center distance and the minimum gear thickness as multi-objective, reasonable parameters of hydraulic drill gear reducer were obtained. The gear number and the center distance were reduced by 456% and 594% respectively after optimization.
