In order to attain the expression of the lateral resistance of rock inserted piles, the breakage is produced by the slippage between the pile and rock assumed by this paper. The pressure between the pile and rock is composed of the pressure generated by deadweight and the one generated by expansion. Then the total normal pressure between the pile and rock is attained by the elastic method. At the basis of Hoek-Brown criteria, the final expression of the lateral resistance of the rock inserted pile is formed. Finally the comparison between this method and data from the fact of the practical project shows good agreement in some degree.
